September 2 to 7, 2009 Six years of Folsom Europe
This year, like the years before, many leather and fetish friends marked this date in red on their calendars: Folsom Europe in Berlin. From September 2 to 7, lots of visitors from all over the world will be expected at Folsom Europe, which culminates to its highlight on September 5, the street fair on Fuggerstrasse between noon and 9 p.m. Last year, there were more than 20.000 people at the street fair according to the police´s estimation and over 5000 at the two Folsom parties PERVERTS and PIG. No other event in Europe attracts so many visitors.
The first weekend in September has become a fixed date in the Leather and fetish wold´s agenda. This year, like the years before, clubs and groups from all over the world present themselves at the street fair. Lots of sales stands invite the crowd for shopping, testing and information. Berlin´s bar owners cater to the crowd with many places to eat and drink at the street fair. Popular DJs get the visitors into the right mood with their music - let´s hope the weather will be as fine as it used to be the years before.
Some alterations from the previous year are taken over again: The DJ stage will be set up again at the end of Fuggerstarsse near Ansbacher Street. It will be new that one "gourmet-mile" will be created in the area of the Welserstreet. The VIP, helpers and press-lounge is again in the end of the Welserstraße, directly in front of our partner-hotel "Axel Hotel Berlin".
Many titleholders from all over the world, including the current Iternational Mr. Leather Jeffrey Payne from Dallas/Texas and German Mr. Leather 2009 Frank from Cologne, will support the fundraising projects set up by Folsom Europe by their attendance.
Folsom Europe 2009 will continue to be a peaceful and friendly meeting of this scene and its friends. The organizing team would like to express their gratitude to the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Mr. Klaus Wowereit, for his strong support and also for his salutation to the participants of Folsom Europe 2009. We would also like to thank the shopkeepers and bar owners of Berlin who have helped us with their support year after year.
So let us look forward to the first weekend in September, when once again Folsom Europe invites the Fetish World to come to Berlin.
Motto 2009: RESPECT
FOLSOM EUROPE increased fast to a successful large event in his first years. Women and men from around the world meet each other, to help others and also, in order to advertise for more acknowledgment and respect for her/its/their way of life. Whoever demands respect even also must handle others respectfully, however, in order to find out acceptance. A responsible contact with reference to safe sex and drugs must just as of course as is also a respectful contact with all visitors and residents in the beautiful-salvor of the Schöneberger Kiez. The organizers expect that the residents are called the guests welcome from around the world on this day. But also the residents can expect that the visitors like guests behave. Therefore is reminded at three basic rules to FOLSOM EUROPE:
* The anticipation packs beautifully increased – cover the genitals!
* Sex is fun - pre all in the Darkroom and at the parties. The street is taboo for this!
* The toilets on the streets are free. Gardens and backyards don't need any extra-fertilizer!
The organizers appeal to all visitors, a respectful contact with her/its/their fellow men, to live!
Party highlights
The two parties PERVERTS 040909 (sponsored by Mr.B) at the Glashaus (www.pervertsberlin.com) and PIG (sponsored by RoB and Recon) on Saturday night at the SED-Parteihochschule Karl Marx, Am Köllnischen Park 6, (www.pigberlin.de) will be the highlights of the weekend besides the street fair itself and a lot of other events. Thousands of guests will celebrate these two parties. Top-DJs will make both events the party highlights of the year.
Sponsored projects and institutions
From 2004 to 2008, a childrens day care institution (Kita Fuggerstrasse e.V.) was sponsored by Folsom Europe with special attention.This is a private initiative caring for children with HIV and AIDS. Furthermore, the Lebenshaus ZIK Zentrum im Kiez gGmbH (Berlin), the Café PositHiv e.V. (Berlin), the gay switchboard Checkpoint run by SchwIPS e.V. (Cologne), an AIDS project in the Ukraine, the child care institution Nestwaerme, Mann-o-Meter for paying instant HIV tests, Pluspunkt in Berlin and a women´s project in the Netherlands were sponsored by Folsom Europe. Altogether 40.000 Euros could be used to support these organizations. Folsom Europe thanks all its visitors for their donations.
