About Us
FOLSOM EUROPE has become a wellknown event since 2004. But who are the men behind the scenes of Europe’s biggest leather and fetish event?
The success story began in 2003 when Daniel Ruester had the idea of bringing the street fair to Europe after many visits to Dore Alley and Folsom Street Fair. Together with Juergen Rentzel from Cologne he set up a concept good enough for an application for partnership and brand name license with the group in San Francisco. Both of them were among the seven founding members who set up the association Folsom Europe e.V. in October 2003 and since then they work in the board of directors. The association from Berlin-Kreuzberg organizes an annual street fair and parts of the other events in cooperation with its members and supporters, being responsible for financing, public relations, volunteer acquisition and the practical coordination in the event site at Fuggerstrasse in Berlin-Schoeneberg. Partners and sponsors support the association by running several events and the two big parties PERVERTS and PIG. Some of the members and supporters also take responsibility for web site design and graphical ad work to advertise our event worldwide. They form an effective crew emerging from the community of Berlin, Germany and Europe, which is being represented by four chairmen.

Leather men from Berlin and Germany established the association Folsom Europe e.V. with its headquarter in Berlin at the end of 2003.
The association is legally registered and has applied for tax release. Membership is available for all natural persons and non-profit organizations and associations. Currently Membership fee is € 20 per year. The membership has to be applied for to the board of directors. We expect an active engagement in the association.

Volker is a “real” Berlin native, he was born and raised in Berlin and he loves his city. He is open-minded, looks for challenges and he doesn´t like unfinished affairs. He does like honest people. Volker lives in Berlin-Schoeneberg with his partner. Before FOLSOM EUROPE he was active with the Sisters of perpetual indulgence, collecting donations and doing prevention streetwork. Volker won the second prize in the German Mr. Leather election 2004. In his free time, he likes to snowboard in Austria and he is interested in traveling, digital photography and computers.

Alain is a native Berlin guy. He lives in Berlin-Kreuzberg with his partner. He has a day job as an employee and in the afternoon he organizes events and works in public relations. The ordinary gay guy in Berlin will recognize him taking pictures with is camera late at night. His pictures can be found in several magazines and internet sites.

Volunteers

Folsom Europe e.V. has already entered into diverse co-operations with other groups in Berlin and also outside of Berlin. We are looking for additional independent voluenteers for the Street Fair to work several hours on a voluntary basis. Apart from amazing views behind the backdrop we will also make sure that you are the center of attention and we will with our sponsors and partners compensate you for your assistance.
